EcoLogic's internship and volunteer program offers students and community members the opportunity to strengthen their professional skills and contribute to the conservation of our planet's biodiversity.
Outreach Intern/Volunteer
This position offers a great opportunity to help EcoLogic while learning about fundraising and outreach in the nonprofit sector. Primary responsibilities will be helping coordinate outreach programs, and assisting with the production of a donor thank-you package. Other responsibilities include donor database maintenance, conducting phone, Internet, and library research, and providing support for our direct mail program. This position requires close attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and strong organizational skills. Previous experience in the non-profit world and/or with fundraising is a plus.
Must be willing to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Communications Intern/Volunteer
Intern will assist with content research, creation, translation, and updating for all sources of communications including website. Intern will help with timely distribution of our major sources of information such as print newsletters, reports, and e-bulletins. Candidates should enjoy drafting story ideas, conducting research, and constructing specific content for the website and/or newsletters. Ability to identify, extract, compile, and analyze data is key. In addition to written content, applicants should enjoy working with visuals (photos, graphics) that support our materials. Other responsibilities may include conducting research on appropriate media outlets, helping create presentations, and assisting with outreach events. Candidates must have strong communication skills, advanced Spanish language proficiency, and an interest in environmental issues. Creativity and resourcefulness are a must.
Office Assistant/Translation Coordinator
Volunteers with Spanish and English language skills can help EcoLogic by translating or editing and/or coordinating the translation of important project documents. Other responsibilities include conducting phone and library research; maintaining EcoLogic's files on environmental organizations; helping produce and distribute materials detailing EcoLogic's programming in Latin America; and helping with office administration, errands, and daily operations.
Must be willing to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Positions are unpaid. Students can receive academic credit in all positions.
