EcoLogic’s CarbonPlus distinguishes itself with:
PROVEN FOREST CARBON EXPERTISE. CarbonPlus staff have more than six years of collective experience working on forest carbon projects that includes: working with community leaders to assess the opportunities and risks of carbon markets; planning, implementing, and documenting forest carbon projects; and preparing for and responding to a validation audit. We are one of the only consultancies that has successfully developed its own neotropical forest carbon project, which has provided us with first-hand experience of all stages of project development.
WESTERN HEMISPHERE EXPERTISE. CarbonPlus staff have conducted academic forestry research in both temperate and neotropical forests and have Spanish and English language proficiency. EcoLogic has over 16 years of institutional experience working with communities in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Panama on neotropical forest conservation and reforestation and has built a broad network of collaborators, including reforestation and forest management experts Brinkman and Associates and carbon mensuration experts Terracarbon.
LOW COST: EcoLogic is a civil society organization dedicated to sustainable rural development and biodiversity conservation. For mission-oriented projects with local communitiy partners, CarbonPlus can raise funds to offer charitable support. For commercial projects, CarbonPlus offers highly competitive fee-for-service bids.
- Conducted a feasibility assessment for an avoided deforestation project in collaboration with partner Reforestamos Mexico
- Completed Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) validation audit for Bosques Pico Bonito, a Honduran reforestation project
- Developed a curriculum for a community training workshop on forest carbon in Honduras through a partnership with Environmental Leadership Training Initiative, Forest Trends, and Rainforest Alliance
- Researched and modeled even-age management impacts on forest carbon in multiple forest types through a partnership with Spatial Informatics Group for Climate Action Reserve (CAR)
