A few months ago, EcoLogic was selected as one of ten finalists in a contest sponsored by Rare and The Nature Conservancy. Thanks so much to all of you who voted for us! While we did not receive a financial award, the experience of attending the workshops and finalist ceremonies in Washington D.C., was a fantastic one. Carlos Euraque, EcoLogic’s Honduras Program Officer, was accompanied by Dave Kramer, EcoLogic’s Senior Manager for Impact, Learning, and Innovation.

As a direct result of the event, EcoLogic has officially joined the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), a group focused on clean and sustainable energy, sustainable forests and land use, and adaptation to climate change, formed at the suggestion of President Barack Obama. With some coaching from experts at the Solution Search event, Carlos developed a 60-second pitch about the work he’s been doing in Honduras that he hopes to use to motivate supporters and collaborators to get involved in the conservation of the Uchapa and Pimienta subwatershed.
